About the university
As a key provincial university, Anhui Medical University (AHMU) is one of the universities co-invested by Ministry of Education, National Health & Family Planning Commission and Anhui Provincial Government. Since its foundation in 1926.Anhui Medical University has accumulated a profound historical background with the university motto Study hard and try to practise, bring up excellent doctors’ and university ethos. Seeking for earnest, proficiency and creativity .We have been devoting ourselves to the development of a teaching-research type medical university with high standards, and carrying out the fine tradition of making contribution to human health.
At present, there are more than 25200 students on three campuses. There are 20 teaching institutions including School of International Education. Different undergraduate programs and courses are being offered in 33 special fields of study. The university has been authorized to establish 4 post-doctoral scientific research programs, to grant doctoral degrees in 44 specialities, and to award master’s degrees in 76 specialities. Anhui Medical University now has 5 affiliated hospitals. In recent 5 years, the university has undertaken 420 research programs from research programs and Natural Science Foundation of China. In recent years, Anhui Medical University has been far ahead of other provincial universities in terms of the total amount of grants from NSFC (Natural Science Foundation of China). Meanwhile, Anhui Medical University is the only provincial university winning the honour of National top 10 scientific and technological developments Up to now, eight disciplines of Anhui Medical University enter the Top 1% of ESI Global Rankings, ranking first among Anhui provincial universities.
Anhui Medical University attaches great importance to international education. The university provides double rooms equipped with bathroom, shower, air-conditioner, TV sets, fridge and internet. International students in Anhui Medical University also have access to Muslim canteen, public kitchen and laundry room. Four classrooms were renovated for international education. Excellent services for international students, which have got recognition from them, reflect the international administrative standards of the university. Up to now, there are 420 international students (including MBBS Programme, master and doctoral students) from more than 40 countries all round the world. In September 2013, Anhui Medical University was entitled to enrol students with Chinese government scholarship from Chinese Scholarship Council. Up to now, Anhui Medical University has enrolled 53 students with Chinese Government Scholarship from Jamaica, Somalia, Azerbaijan, East Timor, etc.

Application Requirements:
- Applicants must have a good command of English. All the courses are taught in English. Applicants’ mother tongue or second language must be English, or they should have learned courses in English. They should be skilful in English listening, speaking, reading and writing. Applicants whose mother tongue is not English must provide eligible IELTS score of at least 5.5 or TOEFL score of at least 61 or any certificate showing the applicants have equivalent English proficiency of 5.5 for IELTS or 61 for TOEFL.
- Requirements of Diploma, academic scores and scientific research capacity
Undergraduates: Applicants must be high school graduates. They must have passed English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology graduation exams. Their physics, chemistry and biology exam results must be above B+ or 70%.
Postgraduates: Applicants must provide bachelor’s degree diploma, recommendation letters from 2 experts and research plan.
Doctoral candidates: Applicants must provide master’s degree diploma, Master’s thesis, recommendation, letters from 2 professors or associate professors and research plan.
- Applicants can’t have any adverse record. Applicants must submit their graduation certificate, exam result sheet, passport and identity card. Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old.
- Applicants under 18 must submit letter of authorization for guardianship.
- Applicants must be healthy and have passed health check-up.
- Applicants must have sufficient financial support for all the fees.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals in good health.
- Education background required and age limit:
Applicants for master degree studies must have bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35;
Applicants for doctoral degree studies must have master’s degree and be under the age of 40.
- The scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarship.
III Details of the Scholarship
- Exempt from registration fee, tuition fee, fee for laboratory experiment, internship fee, fee for basic learning materials and on-campus accommodation fee;
- Comprehensive Medical Insurance;
- Monthly living allowance is granted to the students;
- One-off settlement subsidy is for new students upon their arrivals in China.
