INTRODUCTION:
Guilin Medical University, located in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, was founded in 1935. Originally the Guangxi Provincial Guilin Advanced Midwifery School, it evolved into Guilin Medical College in 1958 and gained the status of a full-fledged university in 1987. It became a doctoral degree-granting institution in 2021 and established a postdoctoral research mobile station for clinical medicine in 2023.
The university operates three campuses—Lingui, Dongcheng, and Lequn—and includes 20 colleges, three affiliated hospitals, and 28 clinical teaching hospitals. It offers undergraduate programs in clinical medicine, pharmacy, and biotechnology, and advanced degrees in various medical and health sciences. The university currently has nearly 30,000 students, including international students from over 30 countries.
With over 6,500 faculty members, half of whom hold doctoral degrees, the university excels in teaching and research. It hosts 39 national and provincial professional construction sites and has made significant contributions to scientific research, with 2,149 projects and nearly 30 awards in the past five years.
Guilin Medical University is noted for its high-quality medical training, ranking second in admission scores for science and engineering in Guangxi. It boasts a strong international presence, having developed partnerships with institutions in Japan, South Korea, Europe, and the United States. The university’s College of International Education, established in 2007, offers programs in clinical medicine, pharmacy, and other health-related fields to a diverse international student body.
Entry Requirements
- Eligibility: Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens between the ages of 18 and 30, in good health, and have no criminal record.
- Educational Background: Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Application Materials
- Certified Copy of High School Diploma
If the diploma is in a language other than Chinese or English, it must be translated into Chinese or English and notarized.
- Passport Photo
A recent passport-sized photo of the applicant.
- Certified Copy of High School Transcripts
If the transcripts are in a language other than Chinese or English, they must be translated into Chinese or English and notarized.
- Photocopy of Passport
Must include name, passport number, expiration date, and photo. The passport must be an ordinary passport and valid for at least six months. Applicants residing in China must include a copy of the page with a valid visa or residence permit.
- Certificate of Non-criminal Record
Issued by the local police station with an official stamp.
- Physical Examination Report
Complete all required items at a hospital, including personal information, photo, checkup date, doctor’s suggestions, and signature.
- Letter of Guardian’s Authorization (For applicants under 18)
